The Few, The Proud, The WELL ENDOWED That is how we were introduced EVERYTIME we played out! Our first gig was in Long Branch, I forget the name of the Place, but we opened up for Lance Larson and His Band.We were dressed like the guys from the movie "A Clockwork Orange" Pretty fucking funny, AND it freaked everybody OUT! Mark Nicastro and myself (Steve Cottrell)were writing song parodies about our friend GRANT TATE, when we came up with an idea for the band. Mark had just started playing guitar, and asked me about putting a band together. I told him "If you want to sound good, surround yourself with good players." My brother Bruce Cottrell was the drummer, and what a great drummer he was. Long time student of Joey Nevolo, another great musician from Neptune City! Bruce is currently living out in the woods of Indiana. Kinda like Ted Gizinsky.. Larry Ables, and Mike Scialfa were both playing guitar also..Mike is currently living in NY State, Larry Ables-whereabouts unkown, Mark Nicastro sang, played acoustic guitar, and blew the harp. You can find him on the link below. We had this black WHORE named Tracy singing and moaning in the background. She was a crack whore, but , it was Asbury Park, so what the fuck? .. and also had a percussionist who played the chains, and sound effects.I can't even remember his name..
Most of our gigs were at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, but we also played a lot of private affairs, a few gigs at T_Birds Cafe in Asbury, and some GIGS in Long Branch. I just found a dvd that is available of WELL ENDOWED from June 23,1992. It's Fucking unbelievable. MIKE SCIALFA gets tipped by a fan on stage!Gotta check it out. I will make this limited edition available. Drop us an email below! (To view this page in it's full glory, you need to download a couple of fonts and install them into your windows/fonts file. the fonts are cocksure, floydian, and clockwork orange.)
